France blankets nearly all populated territory with 4G/LTE and strong 5G in Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, and most of the TGV corridor — Orange, SFR, Bouygues, and Free Mobile keep the country online. A France eSIM activates at Charles de Gaulle, Orly, or Nice before you clear luggage, and stays with you through the Provence countryside, alpine ski resorts, and Normandy's quieter coasts. Many regional plans include EU-wide roaming so the same eSIM works in Italy, Spain, Germany, and beyond at no extra cost.
Best time to visit: May–June and September–October
